American Jazz Antique Toys

American Jazz is known primarily for high quality antique toys in the following areas:

  • American hand-painted tin and clockwork toys
  • European mechanical lithographed and hand-painted tin toys
  • vintage Steiff teddy bears and toys
  • paper toys and paper dolls
  • antique magic sets and objects
  • early optical and pre-cinema toys
  • lithographed toys and games
  • cloth dolls
  • folk dolls
  • and vintage Disney toys
In addition, we actively seek American Folk Art and Jazz Ephemera and Memorabilia.

Because of our association with Jazz music, we see autographs, posters, photos, and general memorabilia of the Jazz world as a fascinating and important area of historical Americana. Additionally, we've always loved the artistic output of the untrained or naïve artist, so called Folk Ar. What a friend once called, the "elusive oddments" sums up the many other objects that Alan Green has searched for the world over.

The fascination of Antique toys is certainly legend amongst toy collectors. Even, however, the general populace can be seen as mesmerized by the attraction of early toys.

and you will see joyful faces remembering and marveling at both the objects in front of them and the memories they engender. Additionally, the technical and cultural history of the world of antique toys broadens our sense of ourselves and our world.

It is the goal of American Jazz to provide a high quality display of genuine and accurately described objects for sale in all the areas above. Because we are always interested in buying as well, any offers will be responded to post haste. Everything sold by Alan Green is sold as described. They are guaranteed as described and returnable without question.
