Fine Velvet Steiff Cat

A 6" x 9" inch tabby Steiff cat circa 1908 on iron wheels. This is the first of early velvet cat on wheels that I have come across. It is in excellent condition although the stripes show some fading. It has yellow glass eyes; the silk collar and bell may or may not be original but are certainly appropriate for the piece. In general velvet animals on wheels are the earliest toys on wheels that Steiff produced.
